Jehovah Shammah is the title of the LORD which means "The LORD is there." It is found in the last verse of the last book of Ezekiel (48:35). After many years in captivity by the Babylonians, the Israelites were assured by God that the nation would experience a revival and there would be a restoration in a measure far beyond their imagination.
God was telling them that whatever the circumstances they would meet, they should not forget that the God who brought them out of Egypt is Jehovah Shammah - the LORD who is always there for them.
So it is the same for us. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:25-30 not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. In that, He is telling us that Jehovah Shammah will be there with us, always.
Indeed, Paul added to this by proclaiming in Rom 8:38-39, that ".... neither the present nor the future, [nothing at all] ... will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
So therefore, let us move forward, today and everyday, taking one step at a time because we know that He is Jehovah Shammah - the Lord is there, with us - always.
God bless you as you enjoy the love of God through this Christmas and always.
This encouraged me today, Steven. With all that is going on in our lives--it is such a blessing to know that "HE is there". Thanks for the post--keep it up!
