No need for questions

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me... In that day you will no longer ask me anything.Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name."
John 14:1, 16:23a

When I was a younger Christian, I was taught (and I believed) that there are many questions about God and about life that I will have no answers for. I was told to "write" all such questions in a "little black book" and so that I can remember to ask the Lord when I am finally in heaven.

How immature that was!

Jesus clearly gave us the assurance that we should not let our hearts be troubled when we believe in Him. We are to totally believe what He says. Many people, including Christians, say that would be blind or childish faith. But this is exactly what the Lord needs of us (Matthew 18:2).

When is "that day"? Certainly it is not when we are in heaven.

I believe "that day" is the day when I fully let Christ ascend to the throne of my heart and make me one with the Father. That day happens when I allow the resurrected life of Jesus to fully inhibit my own life, bringing me to total reliance and dependence upon Him.

John 14:20 says "On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you."

"In that day", Abba Father will answer all my question but those questions I have written in the "little black book" become insignificant and irrelevant. "In that day", I will be one with the Father. "In that day" My Father will give me whatever I ask of Him because I will be asking according to His will.

That day came when I invited Christ to be my Lord and Savior. I am living "in that day" now. You are too, if your have invited Him into your heart. Do not live your life with any doubt and do not let your heart be troubled. There is no need for troubling questions!

God bless.

Steven
