Arise !

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,

and the glory of the LORD rises upon you." 

Isaiah 60:1

Isaiah 60 listed God's promises for the future kingdom. It starts with the command "Arise".

Arise is a verb; it is a command that demands an action. When God says to us, "Arise", it is a spiritual initiative. He will not help us or make us to rise. We must take that first step as though God was not there.

There is no point in waiting for God to lift us up. He simply won't. But if we obey and take the first step to rise up, He will be there with us immediately.

I learned this truth last month when I was deliberating on a decision. My wife and I pondered on the pros and cons and between selfishness and righteousness. Finally, we made a decision when the Lord spoke to us through an article written by Kenneth Copeland. The title of that was "Just do it!"

We did just that. We took the first step. We arose. And God took over and we were ushered into His plan for us. Hallelujah!

So, let us take the first step to allow God to usher us into the plan that He has prepared for us.
