Joint heirs with Christ

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Galatians 3:13-14

Joel Osteen said that "The curse is behind any kind of defeat - sin, mistake, wrong choices, fear, worry, constant sickness, unhealthy relationships, or bad attitudes. Please understand that those are all thing from which you have already been set free......but if you don't appreciate and take advantage of your freedom, if you don't get your thoughts, your words, your attitudes going in the right directions, it won't do you any good."

I totally subscribe to this view. For indeed, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.Being totally sinless, He bore all our sins so that even though we have no righteousness, we were instantly made the righteousness of God through Him.
He made that great exchange on that day He hung on the cross.

By His obedience, we were made joint heirs and sons of God (Rom 8:15-17) - reconciled to our Heavenly Father so that we may continue in fellowship with Him. The curse of the law due to Adam's sin is perpetually broken for those who believe. But like Joel said, we must decide to take advantage of this fact and affirm our belief constantly.

Let's remind our self daily of the blessed assurance that we are sinners saved by the loving grace of God. Let's live as joint heirs with our Lord Jesus.

God bless.

Steven
