“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him,. . .” Roman 8:28 (NIV)
In my last blog entry, I related my learning about wrestling for God and not against Him. Continuing, I learned that wrestling for Him would mean that I need to absolutely trust Him.
It is easy to say that "I believe that God is in control of my life..." Do I really believe it? If I do, then I will not waver or doubt when adversity strikes. I will not worry about the flood when the thunder storm comes. If I truly believe that He is in control of my life, then I must believe that the adversities and storms of life are part of His refinement plan for me, and that I will come out of those a better son ..... "everything, yes EVERYTHING, works together for the good of me..."
Oswald Chamber remarked that "Being faithful to Jesus Christ is the most difficult thing we try to do today.... Many Christians become very impatient when we talk about faithfulness to Jesus. Our Lord is dethroned more deliberately by Christian workers than by the world. The goal of faithfulness is not that we will do work for God, but that He will be free to do His work through us. "
Being truly faithful to Jesus means that I will give up my rights to complain about Him and the circumstances that I am placed in. It also means that I will have no expectation of receiving any explanation from Him. After all, God is sovereign.
It is hard to be faithful to Jesus. But He will help me to be if I asked Him to.....I am a work-in-progress project of God.
God bless.
Steven
