1 Thessalonians 5:22
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Though I am saved by confessing Jesus as my Lord and Savior and have asked for and accepted His forgiveness for my sins (1 John 1:8-10), I am not yet perfect.
While I am now righteous before God through His Son (2 Corinthians 5:21), I am not yet holy in my earthly state.
But when I am sanctified through and through, my whole spirit, soul and body will be blameless. I will be holy.
Sanctification means being set apart for holy use.
Sanctification is God's plan for us. It is His way of getting us to do what He has purposed for our life. Unless we are made holy, we cannot be effective for Him.
On our own, it is impossible to achieve holiness. On the other hand, the Holy Spirit cannot do His sanctification work in us unless we allow Him to. He wants to bring us to the point where we desire to be sanctified. And when that happens, the power of the Holy Spirit will help us to obey.
Be open and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to that point. And when you are there, make an affirmative decision to obey.
God bless.
