I was enlightened when I read a devotional article from Osward Chamber's My Utmost for His Highest entitled Spiritual Dejection. He challenged readers to know that “anything that has even a hint of dejection spiritually is always wrong.“ He further expounded that this dejection comes from a spiritual lust that demands an answer from God instead of seeking God who gives the answer. What an important teaching for us to remember always – seek Him rather than seek the healing. For when we seek the Healer, the healing comes.
Throughout the last 12 months, I was challenged in many areas of my life. I have to make major decisions concerning my career, business, finance and family. My dear wife encouraged me with many verses and I would like to share the following.
- Luke 22:42 when Jesus prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." I learned that the essence of true holiness is conformity to the nature and will of God. Indeed, not my will but His be done, even if it meant pain, for the certainty is that He is in control and have our good in view. I know that His will for me is for my good and to glorify His name.
- James 1:12 "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." Indeed, I am comforted for the purpose of comforting others that they may know the love of Christ for them.
- Psalm 43:5 "Why are you downcast O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." God lifted me when my old self tried to raise doubts concerning my condition. Indeed, knowing that He IS my Savior and my God compels me to anchor my hope in Him. I am liberated to trust and exercise my faith in His power and love.
So, what shall I say or do? It is this. Whatever my necessities are, however great my difficulties, my response is to anchor my hope in God. In His time, help will come, for His glory. Hallelujah!
God bless.

Because God is Good all the time,
ReplyDeleteNot the other time,
Not some time,
Not the last time,
Not the few times,
but firmly, all the time, in His Will & Love.
Thanks Kevin.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, He is always good, for that is His nature and character.
Praise the Lord!
