I started to delve into the book of Psalm again this week, chapter by chapter.
Last Saturday morning, I went up to the hills (Mt Faber) to have a solitary quiet time with God, yes, just Him and me.
Why did I do it? In the last two months, the busyness of life had left me little time to be at His feet. I had problem sleeping for the last couple weeks. As much as I tried to find "some" time daily to read the bible, I was not hearing Him. I was tired physically, mentally and spiritually. So, I felt that I need to be alone with Him and to hear from Him. And I am glad He met me.
I am particularly lifted up by Ps 3:3-4 that say "But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah "
See how good God always is. I went up to the hills to look for Him and He answers me. And that was not all, Ps 4:8 which says "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety" gave me peace. On that night, I recited His promise from this verse and slept well. Praise the Lord!
May I encourage those of you who are laboring and restless, to go to Him. Like me, you will find peace in Him, and will sleep well in His arms.
God bless.
Steven
