God is my Encourager. He encourages me whenever I needed it most. Praise the Lord!
You see, I have been overloaded recently. Overloaded with ministry work, responding to others who needed help and encouragement, taking care of my family and business and coping with the festivities. I was tired, really tired mentally, physically and also spiritually.
I was getting weary even with continuing with this blog as I thought that no one was interested. Then last week, Jeremy (someone that I do not yet know) commented on my blog that my sharing on Jevohah Shamma encouraged him..thank you Jeremy for encouraging me.
Today, I told the Lord that I cannot help others anymore as I needed help myself. I said this as I was getting ready to go for my evening prayer walk.
As I was walking, a dear brother called me on my mobile. He had just returned from a holiday yesterday and he sensed in his spirit that I needed encouragement. Thank God for all who are sensitive to God's prompting. The conversation with him lifted me.
Through my brother, the Lord encouraged me. He reminded me to "hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrew 10:23-24. Praise the Lord for lifting me up again.
Indeed, the Lord is our Encourager. He may speak to us directly, through His word, through another believer and even through His handiwork. Let us be sensitive to His voice.
So, let us look to Jesus always and be lifted up. He wants us to trust Him and walk on the problems we face and know that He is there with us. Yes, He is Jehovah Shammah!
As we enter into a new year, let us remember that God is the same yesterday, today and always. Let us hold fast to the hope that He has given us and walk victoriously every day.
God bless.
Hi Steven
ReplyDeleteWhenever I am discouraged I thot of your blog. So please do not give up. You think no one reads your blog, I do. I always share with my friends what I learnt from your blog. God is our Encourager and our Hope. To know who we are in Christ we have hope. We have joy. He has given it to us. dun be discouraged. He is our source of strength.
Hi bro Steven
ReplyDeleteGod reads blogs too. Much of what we do should be done for His pleasure and delight. Putting print to blogsite is just one way of chronicling what you're learning and experiencing in your ongoing journey with Him and others. And it shows that despite your busy schedule at work and ministry, you're disciplined to keep track of this spiritual journey. Keep at it. Remember, God reads blogs too!
ABC
Dear Maggie and the anonymous brother/sister ABC,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your encouragement. I will continue.
ABC, thank you for reminding me that our Abba Father knows exactly what we are doing all the time. You also reminded me that I am doing it for His delight, not for mine, nor for anyone else. Indeed, it is for the Audience of One! PTL.
God bless you both.
Steven
